150th anniversary of The Gettysburg Address

In honor of Veteran's Day and in particular the 150th anniversary of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address this week,  I wanted to share a song I found so touching in regards to war."Tell My Father" is the final wish of a young Union soldier, alone and dying on the battlefield during the American Civil War.  Written for the Broadway musical of the same name, I find the lyrics haunting and tragic, and something that hundreds of thousands of young men have had to go through in order to protect our freedom.

While I fully realize the irony of simply performing a song in a video in comparison to those who actually fought and gave their lives for my own freedom, I felt it was one small way I could give a little back with the talents I have been given.  Maybe this song might bring some sense of comfort to a family or father who lost their own son in battle.  Maybe it will make someone randomly browsing Youtube realize how thankful we should be to be protected by these soldiers.  Maybe it will make us all remember how lucky we are to be free.

Whatever the reason.  Thank you, and enjoy.
