West Side Story live in concert with the Akron Symphony Orchestra

A triumphant return to the Akron Symphony Orchestra this May 4th, performing the role of "Tony" live in concert. Worlds are colliding in the rough-and-tumble West Side of 1950s New York City as star-crossed lovers Maria and Tony get caught up in rising tensions between rival gangs, the Sharks and the Jets.

A historic collaboration of some of Broadway’s biggest names, WEST SIDE STORY is an iconic musical theatre contemporization of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet that quickly became a classic in its own right, repeatedly sweeping the Tony Awards over decades of revivals.

In the same spirit as the 1957 original, The Akron Symphony's production will propel this age-old story further forward with a vibrant, timeless design. Featuring Northeast Ohio's brightest talent, and a full symphony orchestra performing the classic score including "Something's Coming", "Maria", "America", "Somewhere", "Tonight", "I Feel Pretty", "One Hand, One Heart".

Tickets are sold through the Akron Symphony Box Office and can be purchased here.
